It's time for Bromancing the Classics and it's Michael Denniston's (@warmachinehorse) turn to call the shots. As was announced during the last installment, we are reviewing the Martin Scorsese thriller, Cape Fear, and debating on whether it is a film that every man should see. Are Robert De Niro's movie theater antics something every man should see or is Nick Nolte's version of a family man the model for men?

Gary Oldman Hall of Fame Induction

We're opening up the doors to the great hall and inducting the inaugural member to the True Bromance Film Hall of Fame. In order to rectify the grotesque errors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, we have established our own version of awards that are sure to stand the test of time and serve as the categorical barometer for success in film. The inaugural member of the True Bromance Film Hall of Fame is none other than the great Gary Oldman, who has been ignored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for far too long.

MOVIES DISCUSSED THIS WEEK:

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Hardcore Henry, Lee Daniels' The Butler, Hannibal, Sid and Nancy, Bram Stoker's Dracula, True Romance, The Fifth Element, The Book of Eli, Following, The LEGO Batman Movie

John Wick: Chapter 2

We have the heavy weapons out and we're taking no prisoners as a highly-anticipated sequel is upon us. Keanu Reeves is back in the titular role as our favorite efficient assassin. The Founder

In a slightly abridged version of the show we are discussing the Ray Kroc biopic, starring Michael Keaton in the role of a charming, yet ruthless, business man who took an innovative way of serving food into a worldwide super power of deep fried goodness. The Founder tells the story of how Ray Kroc brought McDonald's to every corner of the globe and ushered in a new era of healthy eating.

Best of 2016

We are counting down our favorite films of the dumpster fire that was 2016 and to provide judgement to our highly unqualified criticism of film, we have two fellow podcasters joining us. Tim Costa of the First Time Watchers Podcast (@1sttimewatchers) and Kevin Thompson (@OptimusSolo) of the Cinema Geeks Podcast are with us to heckle and tell us how wrong Barry is and how glorious Jairo is.

Silence / Last of the Mohicans

This is truly an exciting show for us for various reasons. First, we are reviewing a Martin Scorsese film as he returns with Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, and Liam Neeson in Silence. We are also celebrating the return of Bromancing the Classics and our repertory player, Mr. Michael Denniston (@warmachinehorse), with a discussion about a favorite of the show, Last of the Mohicans. Enjoy as we shamelessly drool all over Daniel Day-Lewis and his glorious perfection.

MOVIES DISCUSSED THIS WEEK:

Last of the Mohicans, Silence, Goodbye To All That, The Founder, 20th Century Women, There Will Be Blood, Hidden Figures, Under the Shadow, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night

Fences

The great Jamison Rabbitt (@JamisonRabbitt) is back with us and this time he's helping us with the latest award-hopeful, Fences. Does Denzel Washington's latest directorial effort have a shot at some hardware this season or is Fences nothing more than fodder for crying Viola Davis memes?
